The final lesson that we are revisiting in our Back to School series, where we have been looking back at valuable lessons that we learned in kindergarten and have been applying them to our adult lives, is "Wait Your Turn." Remember when you were in school and had to walk with your class in a line to anywhere on campus? Sometimes you were assigned the coveted "line leader" role. Or better yet, the "door holder" at the end of that line. In between those times, you had to patiently wait your turn and walk somewhere in the middle. Sometimes next to someone you really did not want to be next to, or at times next to your very best friend. This is a reality that we still encounter as adults. There are times in life when we are leading, times when we are waiting, and times when we bring up the rear. Sometimes, we really get along with the people around us. And sometimes...we don't. But the secret to enduring those times is to TRUST that God has us exactly where He needs us to be and to BE LOVE wherever we are. Each week at The Chase is Real, we have a weekly challenge. Our challenge for this week is going to help us practice just that. We are going to Love Chase (also known as Acts of Kindness) as an act of faith and agreement with God. Regardless of our circumstances and who we are next to in life, we will LOVE with our actions. Make a deliberate choice to spread love wherever you may be. Notice what happens in your heart as you accept this challenge.
Our song this week is Five For Fighting's Fifteen. What a wonderful reminder that throughout our life, we go through many seasons and stages. Each one of those is necessary for so many reasons that we cannot even begin to understand. God uses each one for His glory and purpose in our lives (make sure to check out Amy's and April's blogs on Wednesday and Friday to hear wonderful examples of this). Take a moment this week to listen to the song and keep in mind that regardless of what stage you are in, God is with you, working in and through you, and actively chasing you with His Love.
In this week's verse, Paul writes of many different circumstances that we all go through in life. Sometimes we have abundance. Sometimes we have little. Sometimes we are full. Sometimes we are empty. Regardless of the conditions and events that we face, Paul tells us that the way to make it through life is with The One who makes us who we are. Use this verse as a reminder to stay connected to and open to God, no matter what kind of situation you find yourself in. Consider putting it somewhere that will help you to mindfully stop and breathe in God's love and peace.
